In adhesives, Fischer-Tropsch wax is primarily used in hot-melt adhesives, particularly EVA-based hot-melt adhesives, where it is considered an ideal synthetic wax. Its core function is to adjust performance: its high melting point enhances the adhesive’s heat resistance and fast-drying properties, while its low viscosity facilitates rapid resin mixing and improves processing efficiency.‌‌

In formulations, wax is one of the most effective performance modifiers for hot-melt adhesives. The melting point and crystallinity of the wax directly control the hot-melt adhesive’s initial setting temperature and curing time, and also affect the final product’s plasticity and tensile properties. Fischer-Tropsch wax is typically added at a concentration of about 10% to 30%. It can adjust the hardness, melt viscosity, and open time of the adhesive, and can also serve as a lubricant and dispersant for tackifying resins, thereby enhancing bond strength.‌
